Winter Engagement Session in the Cascades

Winter engagement session in the snow by Seattle Wedding Photographer Luma Weddings

Some engagement sessions are sunny, others are rainy, but this winter engagement session was filled with deep powder and soft, falling snow.  Just the way I love it.

Some photographers might reschedule, but having a handy AWD SUV to get me to the mountains safely in [nearly] any condition is amazing, and I am so grateful that we thought ahead and planned accordingly when we got our new car.  Without the AWD, getting to locations like this would be impossible – or treacherous at the very least.

Personally, shooting portraits in the snow is one of my favorites because it gets us into the great outdoors, gives us some fantastic light, and makes for a dynamic environment to really play with.  Check out their winter engagement session below, snowing and everything.

What made this session even better is the plain, amazing attitude from this beautiful, fun-loving couple.  It was nothing but smiles and laughs during their adventurous portrait session in the mountains.  They took direction incredibly well, and they made it their own with their personalities.  Everything was incredible, and I’m very pleased to share this winter engagement session with everybody.

I photographed their session with my new Canon 5D Mark IV, and I absolutely love how it handles every single kind of weather pattern that I toss it into.  It’s an absolute tank and worth every penny. So, if you’re in the market for a new camera, I highly recommend the Mark IV.  Feel free to send me an email why anytime.
