The absolutely, positively hottest day of the entire 2017 season was the wedding between Kaitlyn & Anthony at the Woodmark Hotel wedding venue in Kirkland, WA. Screaming into the 90’s with near 100% humidity, and a blanket of forest fire smoke to bring it into every nook and cranny.

This wedding venue in Kirkland handled it PERFECTLY, though. Its tent outside of the hotel allows for shade, the inside gives that nice air conditioning, and the super unique and classic boat ride gives that perfect breeze after a gorgeous ceremony. And what a boat ride it was. Why can’t every wedding venue include a ride around Lake Washington? 🙂
Their wedding party was super laid back, dressed to the nine’s, and they were ready to celebrate like it was 1999! (Don’t you love my jokes? Classic, I know. I think I would win the Dad Jokes award if they had something like that.)
When we were ready for their first look and wedding party photos, we went out onto the dock… and went through them as quickly as we could. The weather was so hot and humid that everybody was dripping sweat in the matter of seconds, not even minutes.
The challenge for this wedding was coaching their wedding party in a way where it wouldn’t look so hot. And position the group in a way where the light was still flattering — and all on the fly. And with the cooperation of everyone – we nailed it!
Everyone was so gracious, so kind, so funny. It was an amazing day for a waterfront wedding.
