When you are living west of Seattle, it can be difficult finding a photographer with a style you love. Not impossible, but difficult simply because the majority of photographers live on the Seattle-side of the Sound. Well, if you are searching for a Port Orchard wedding photographer or Bremerton wedding photographer, please keep me in mind. It’s just a quick little ferry ride for me, and I absolutely LOVE the area. So much that my wife and I are even considering buying a house over there.
For Laura & Jimi, they had the same idea. They love Port Orchard, and so do their six kids.
On their wedding day, they wanted everything very relaxed, very low-key, and simple. They just wanted to get married. They didn’t add a lot of flair, and they didn’t need it. They just needed each other, their family, and their friends. And it was beautiful.
Laura got ready with the girls, Jimi with the guys – and everybody had a relaxing morning full of laughter, happy tears, and excitement.
The wild thing that really made their Port Orchard wedding really exciting was the fact that Laura & Jimi had only closed on their brand new house only a couple of days before their wedding day! The house was still full of boxes halfway unpacked. It certainly wasn’t the ideal timing, but they were incredibly happy to now have a home of their own to come back to as husband and wife.
They got married in their local community church, and their reception was held at their favorite restaurant and bar – the Whiskey Gulch right on the waterfront in Port Orchard. The windows pop open, the doors slide out, and the fresh ocean breeze pours in. I loved it. It’s a fantastic atmosphere, and the place can be entirely rented out for private parties. Perfect.
And my super-duper, awesome wife, Haley, helped me with this wedding! Make sure to check out her day-of wedding coordination website if you are considering hiring a coordinator for your Port Orchard wedding. Her business is Luma & Lavender and her website is here!
