Right off the bat, I knew this wedding was going to be one of those I was always going to remember and look back fondly on.  Lindsey & Andrew’s Rays Boathouse wedding in Ballard, WA was one for the ages.

I think they went about it in a really smart way, too. Here’s why…

Instead of getting ready “far” away in downtown Seattle, they chose to get ready at a swanky boutique hotel right in Ballard.  They chose rooms within steps from each other.  And they chose a hotel that has a beautiful secluded rooftop lounge where they can easily have a romantic first-look together with their initial wedding party portraits. If you are getting married at Golden Gardens, Ray’s Boathouse, or any other Ballard-area wedding venue, check out this great Ballard hotel.

Oh, and I absolutely must mention that they stopped by King’s Hardware in Ballard for a beer, some portraits, and a mid-day break with their entire wedding party and immediate family. How awesome!!

ANNNND they rented a couple SCHOOL BUSSES to get them between the hotel and the wedding venue!!

How freaking awesome is that?? You can rent a school bus for your transportation!

They took their school bus from Hotel Ballard to the Rays Boathouse wedding venue.

As for their ceremony & reception, the weather was perfect.  It was warm, there was a little breeze, and the sunset came out in gorgeous form — so of course I needed to capture it in a more unique way (scroll all the way to the bottom to see my fine art take on their sunset).

So, if you are thinking about having your wedding at Ray’s Boathouse in Ballard, WA… I think you’ve chosen a fantastic option and one that I can certainly recommend.  And of course, I would love to be your Seattle wedding photographer, Ballard wedding photographer, or pretty much any wedding photographer you want me to be 🙂
