For years, I have been wanting to photograph a Swiftwater Cellars wedding in Cle Elum, WA, but the timing never worked out. Whenever I had an inquiry, I was already booked on the date or I was out of town. So, I started to think outside the box and started some discussions with other really incredible wedding vendors in Seattle and the surrounding area around us.
What we ended up deciding on was to put together what’s called a “styled shoot” so we can create the content we needed and submit it around to various different wedding magazines, blogs and other publications around the world. So, that’s exactly what we did! And once I linked up with Kayla Cook from Kayla Cook Events, it all started to fall into place.
And the funny thing is that once this styled shoot started getting put together, I ended up getting another inquiry for a beautiful REAL Swiftwater Cellars wedding for only a few months later. (More on that one coming soon, and I will link that here as well so you can check it out.) Funny how things work out, right??
We ultimately chose the Swiftwater Cellars wedding venue in Cle Elum, WA because we wanted to have a snowy, winter wonderland. And at the time that we planned for this photo shoot to happen (mid-December), the area is usually completely blanketed in snow. Well, when we arrived – there was only a bit of snow – and incredibly low temperatures. If I remember right, the temperature dropped to around 10 degrees Fahrenheit – and that was before wind-chill! So, if any of these photographs of Melissa and Andrew look a bit chilly – well, you would be completely accurate, haha. They were such champs, though. And it was even Melissa’s birthday when we shot all of these! Can you believe it! What a sport. 🙂
As for the winery itself, it’s modern, cozy, luxurious, and all the right feels that you would expect of a high-end location tucked away in the hills of Cle Elum. If you are looking for winery wedding venues in Washington State, I can definitely recommend this particular wedding venue. It’s gorgeous.
The team that came together for this were all on-point, too. Everybody was such an incredible help, and I will forever be grateful.
