What better way to go for your Salish Lodge wedding than a preferred photographer of the amazing property?! (At the time of this blog post, I’m a super honored to be a preferred photographer at Salish Lodge… and I absolutely LOVE it. It’s perfect for my style of photography, and it’s a great way to make a living by taking portraits by the amazing Snoqualmie Falls.) Keep reading to hear a bit about my insight on the venue, and to check out a real elopement for Salish Lodge weddings.

Looking for an outdoor wedding venue near Seattle?

Do you want your Washington wedding venue to involve the gorgeous outdoors? Maybe wanting a waterfall as your backdrop?  How about one of the largest waterfalls in the United States!  Check out Salish Lodge & Spa for your wedding venue!  The venue inside is spacious, modern, and has a wilderness feel to it — even though you are only 40 minutes from downtown Seattle.

Then, you can step outside and hear the rush of Snoqualmie Falls. By itself, that’s an amazing and super memorable feeling. Especially when you have booked the upstairs dining room that has a balcony looking over the falls. Just beautiful.

There are a few different rooms for various styles of Salish Lodge weddings, so I highly recommend taking a tour before you book. Each room has a different aesthetic (smart!), and different size capacities.

A super important note about portraits at Snoqualmie Falls for Salish Lodge weddings

One thing that made this property SUPER popular is a simple fact that Snoqualmie Falls is spectacular. And it has made for INCREDIBLE portraits that are now world-renowned. That said, the base of the falls has since been completely blocked off by a double-tall fence. The style that is nearly impossible to scale. And super, super dangerous to even attempt it.

Things to consider:  The weather can change rapidly at this Pacific Northwest wedding venue, but so can the waterfall itself – especially in Winter and Spring when the water level is higher and more forceful.  Another change about this location is the fact that the Forest Service shut off the access to the area directly below the falls.  It was open all the way until August 22nd, 2015.  So, if you are looking to book this venue only for the reason of trying to get some images of you in your dress at the bottom of the falls, you might need to look into getting a special permit.  Otherwise, this venue is truly stunning and you will not be disappointed. – KG / Luma Weddings
