Ever dreamed of getting married IN A LIGHTHOUSE?? Make sure you keep reading about this Lime Kiln Lighthouse wedding on San Juan Island in Washington.
Well, this couple (Oxana & Justin) did just that. It was a beautiful winter day full of all the winter elements this time of year (February). It has rain, wind, and freezing temperatures. Everyone had to bundle up to stay warm, and the location had absolutely no one except just them, their family, and their friends. It was perfect.
One of the things that really keeps me on my toes is when I get inquiries for elopements and intimate weddings. Most often, I get emails about these weddings within only a few short months of their wedding date, and I was so incredibly happy to hear that Oxana + Justin were having a Lime Kiln Lighthouse elopement!!!
All the guys wore traditional suits for the wedding day but paired them with bright yellow rain jackets – very fitting for the nautical theme that they had for their wedding day. And Oxana is of Eastern European descent, so she chose to really make that shine with her gorgeous dress, veil, and fur coat.
They only booked me for a few hours, but that time we spent at the top of the Lime Kiln Lighthouse was absolutely incredible, and I will never forget that experience of photographing their portraits inside it.
TIP: If you are planning to get married anywhere on San Juan Island, or right here at the Lime Kiln Lighthouse, just make sure you plan and prep for the long ferry ride and unpredictable weather. I’ve done it many times now for many weddings, so get in touch with me if you have any questions! Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, it’s in my blood.
Super gorgeous, right? Could you imagine getting your wedding portraits at the top of a working lighthouse? INCREDIBLE!! This wedding was super intimate, and they only booked me for 4 hours, but it was 4 hours full of complete amazingness.
