Every so often, I get an email saying – WE WANT YOU FOR OUR ROCHE HARBOR WEDDING! There was just something so unique about this one, I absolutely, positively knew that it was right up my alley. Can you guess what it was?
Well, it was many things! It’s the fact that Allison is a creative professional herself (a YouTube travel & beauty vlogger with over 460,000 subscribers at the time of this blog post), a photographer, and Stuart is SCOTTISH!
My heritage (on my paternal side) is Scottish through-and-through. And I’ve been to Scotland about a half-dozen times over my life, and ever since I got into my career as a Seattle wedding photographer – I’ve been wanting to photograph a Scottish wedding. It’s truly in my blood. So when Allison reached out to me and told me that they are incorporating authentic Celtic elements to their Roche harbor wedding, naturally, I was so excited.
Their wedding day in Roche Harbor started in two different vacation rentals. He was up north on the island tucked in the trees, and she was on the waterfront on the west side in a cozy little bay. Both totally had the island vibe!
If you’re planning (or considering) your very own Roche Harbor wedding, you might naturally think about where the best locations for photos on San Juan Island are. Well, the answer to that is very simple. The best photo locations on the island are right at the Roche Harbor wedding venue!
Right there, you have the iconic Hotel Haro as the backdrop or turn around and you have the docks – filled with multi-million dollar yachts and sailboats. You also have beautiful gardens, cobblestone streets, and the iconic church on the waterfront… which used to be a school for the locals!
So, without any further adieu, let’s get to it.
You’ve seen this Roche Harbor wedding. You’ve seen how it’s such an expansive resort where you can have so many different backdrops for your wedding photos. And now that you’re here at the end of their wedding story on my blog, maybe you’d be interested to see other gorgeous weddings & portrait sessions that I have photographed! After all, you might still be in the planning process, and maybe you want to see your options! Am I right?
