Can’t decide between a water-side wedding or something urban? Why not both? When you have a Ray’s Boathouse wedding, that’s exactly what you can have.
Lindsey + Andrew got ready in the beautiful Hotel Ballard with their huge wedding party. Most wedding parties choose to head straight from the hotel to the ceremony site, but not these guys. They chose to head over for a pint at King’s Hardware! A space wasn’t reserved for the large group, but we all have pretty boisterous voices and when you show up with a party over 20 people all dressed up for a wedding… everyone completely understands and makes way for us – which is amazing. Now, it’s all about how I am able to coach that huge wedding party and their families and getting really high quality light… in a tightly confined space. A challenge for sure… but the results are now some of my most favorite photographs that I have ever taken. It really showcases their personalities as well as my style of photography. Authentic, laid back, and fun!
From there, how else would you get to the venue site for their Ray’s Boathouse wedding… but a school bus!! How freaking awesome, right? Who needs a limo on a wedding day when you can have a school bus!
Now for Ray’s Boathouse, it’s impeccable. There’s a building to the side of the main restaurant that is specifically for private events – and they are stacked with an insanely busy schedule… so make sure to book well in advance. And for all those pesky (and gorgeous) details, make sure you have hired a talented wedding planner. For Lindsey & Andrew, they’ve hired the multi-talented and oh-so-sweet Tamara Nicole Andersen of Simply Nicole. We highly recommend her if you haven’t already booked a planner. Check her out.
Now, back to this gorgeous wedding. I could write a huge, long story about this seaside wedding in Seattle. I could say how it reminded me of the high-end weddings in the Hamptons or over in Cape Cod. I could say how everyone was so awesome and respectful… but I’ll just leave these Ray’s Boathouse wedding photographs here. Check them out and send me an email if you have any questions about weddings at Ray’s Boathouse. I’m here to help!
